From 15th Sep "Paradise in Parklands" by John Davies PDF Print E-mail
imageLarge colour photographs of Chavasse Park in central Liverpool made during the archaeology “dig” and the subsequent excavation and construction works of the same site for the Paradise development.

These documentary photographs can be seen in Parklands Community Library in Speke - a few minutes drive from Liverpool Airport. Additional prints can be seen in the window only from the public footpath just outside the library, 24/7. Images are on a large scale up to 6x7ft (1.8x2.2m).

Catch a number 80 bus from Great Charlotte St in the city centre, stopping at Princes Park Gates, Allerton Road/Penny Lane, Woodend/Hunts Cross to North Parade in Speke - Parklands complex is the new building behind fence.

Parklands also has a large monitored car park.

From the library you can see the beginnings of another new retail park development on the remainder of what was Speke Park.

'In my work I am is interested in issues relating to the quality of our surroundings and the changes that shape our urban landscape - not just in making pictorial images to decorate walls.'
