During a week long residency, plan b (Sophia New and Daniel Belasco-Rogers) research and investigate the stories and images that make up the changing environment of the city, finding its pulse and playing out personal desires of urban planning.

Working with models, they remove certain buildings to create, for instance, a park to kiss in. If Liverpool is a body in need of 'Archipuncture', where do we find its pulse, its little finger, its heart or even its arse?

Exhibition 'FIELD presents Story of a Hero' in St Helens at 5athegallery from 1-25 November

Pupils at De La Salle High School in St Helens have been engaged in a 16-day artist residency with two professional artists.

The project has been funded by the Field Fund, a Trust Fund set up by St Helens Council with funding donated by Antony Gormley, following the creation of the internationally acclaimed artwork, Field for the British Isles, which was created in St Helens in 1993.

In one the most memorable films by the Italian director Michelangelo Antonioni, titled The Passenger, Jack Nicholson plays a burnt-out reporter who exchanges his identity with that of a man he finds dead in a North African hotel room. He does this to get away from his previous life but discovers he is being haunted not only by a wife and friends who go in search of him, but by strangers who have business interests with the deceased in the hotel room.

All applicants were guaranteed entry into the project and the 23 participants have worked together in an effort to create an exhibition which makes the best use of a 19th Century building which, though very dilapidated, contains multiple layers of history.
