Large scale paintings depicting reworked everyday images from raunchy glossy ads.
In 2005 Nicola Bockelmann received a grant from Arts Council England to produce large scale paintings depicting risque images taken from everyday advertisements. Her exhibition aims to raise awareness of the increasing use of pornographic elements in advertisements - a phenomenon called 'Porn Chic'. 'Porn Chic' means more explicit sexuality in film, tv, fotography, music, advertisements and tv commercials, movies, litarature, art and fashion.

Museum MAN ANOTHER VACANT SPACE "Syncretic Prophecies" is a development of an impromptu performance by David Medalla which he created in Liverpool in 1999 at the start of the first Liverpool Biennial Invited to come to Merseyside by his friend James Moores, the Filipino artist David Medalla remembered the time when he visited Liverpool in the early sixties to attend the prize-giving ceremony of the John Moores Art Prize. On the evening of the prize-giving ceremony, David Medalla met John Lennon, who took young Medalla, a few days later, on a tour of the sights of Liverpool, including the "Cavern" where the Beatles played. A few years later, John Lennon and David Medalla met again, in the Indica Gallery, where Medalla had an exhibition of his pioneering biokinetic machines, the first examples of auto-creative art, in 1967.

Nadim Karam With a background that fuses Oriental and Japanese theories of space, Nadim Karam went on to create his own concepts, like ‘micropluralism’, ‘the architecture of performance’, and ‘story-telling architecture’. ‘Hapsitus’ (the unpredictable outcome of choreographed openings and situations) he chose for the name of his firm, founded in 1996. His use of many different mediums; paintings, sculptures, urban installations and architecture; has given rise to inter-disciplinary fusion through which a consistent conceptual line can be traced.
