Paintings, drawings and prints at University of Liverpool Gallery
Tony Phillips was born in Liverpool in 1952. This retrospective includes works from across his career, during which he has worked in Lancaster, Shrewsbury and Italy. Themes of concern include consumerism, capitalism, the dislocation of humans from nature and the layering of history. Key paintings are displayed, including Office Girl (1978), Icarus (1989) and Guide to the Twentieth Century. Prints shown include several series documenting the growth of major cities such as Liverpool and London, and further consideration of the last century.

A multimedia showing of work by Digital Production by Disabled People, as well as pieces produced by Onteca and the Gang. Ghosts of the Future is a project consisting of four films made by the Liverpool collective Digital Production by Disabled People. 'Blue Djinn' is an exploration of the naked male form and the power of sexuality. 'Interpretation of Dreams' is a composed tableau of an imagined art-deco future of the integrated personality of a disabled person. 'Angel of Kilcuddy' - Is a pre-Raphaelite meditation on disability and the rural idyll. 'Insensibility' is a tripped out journey into a world of colour and occult symbolism.
