Welcome to the salon!
Join us in a land of golden frames, wide landscapes, fleshy nudes and exuberant still life works. Where demons of etching scream from dusty corners and city streets curl in maps of desire. Fragments of eternal realities and glimpses of other worlds embrace in a terminal dance of oily fluids.
Constellations of contemporary paintings, etchings, drawings and film, of two parts. Gathered on the banks of the River Lea, Hackney, London, examined, selected and relocated to the Mersey, Liverpool, this salon explores traditional subject matter, densely hung and re-framed for modern eyes.
Selected by The Projection Gallery and Mission Studios, in association with The Art Organisation and Liverpool Biennial Independents 2008.
The Projection Gallery is a not-for-profit artist-led organization for the collection and distribution of the best in artists’ film and video. The Projection Gallery operates from London as a volunteer group and has amassed works from over 170 artists from all continents, since 2002. Submissions are currently open for new works.
