Faith Bebbington Faith’s new collection of figurative sculptures evolved by her inventing characters such as superheroes or prima donnas. Her work has also been recently inspired by ‘freerunning’, an exciting sport involving running and climbing all over urban buildings and structures. Her suspended and wall mounted work concentrates on making patterns by repeating a figure or grouping figures in space. She also mounts figures on poles and revisits this way of working regularly. The freestanding sculptures tend to be extrovert ‘performers’ full of drama and theatre. She also enjoys the challenge of creating pieces for unusual or awkward spaces and sites. The sculptures are often androgynous figures set in space, so the viewer focuses on the action or movement of the figure, rather than finer details.
