| | Artists' Book Fair (2 days) Wolstenholme Projects 15.11.2008 (12-17.00) - 16.11.2008 (11-16.00) Exhibition: A chance to peruse (and perhaps buy!) some artists' books, multiples and printed works |
| Private Viewing | | None | | Artist(s) | | Emily Speed | | | | The Artists' Book Fair will take place as part of the Liverpool Independents Biennial on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th November. The venue is on two floors of galleries in Wolstenholme Projects, a beautiful, but dilapidated Georgian ex-textiles warehouse, home to a collective of artists. This will be the first artists' book fair in Liverpool and will feature artists showing books, zines, multiples and paper-based or printed works. As we are interested in creating an atmosphere akin to our studio environment - with plenty of room for experimentation - there will also be book-related performances, readings, film screenings, and interventions. There is much book-creating happening here in Liverpool without many outlets so we decided it was about time we created one! There are special exhibitions during the book fair including: Work by Tim Machin and Tracey Eastham 15:1, an exhibition of books produced by Chinese students from the CAFA (Central Academy of Fine Art) in Beijing, curated by Sumi Perera. An exhibition of envelopes as containers and messengers, curated by Sophie Loss and Mary Yacoob. There will also be new limited-edition bookworks commissioned especially for the event by Rose Smith and Elizabeth Willow (with a special reading by Elizabeth Willow). There are around 30 tables of artists, so it will be very cosy! A reading corner, tea and cake and a friendly atmosphere will also be on offer.
